Update on The Candles 2025.05.17

Candles

Three cans of monster energy drink turned candles, they are all right next to their respective vials of chemicals that supposedly change the color of fire.
The candles I made, I talked about them in the previous entry.

So the changing color of fire was partially a failure, the orange can (containing LiCl) never gained any other color, the beige can with the mermaid on it caught a biiiiit of color, and finally the green one did shine green for a bit but didn’t keep the color. There are a million things that could’ve led to these semi-failures, at least I don’t have to deal with them anymore.

My classmates loved them, two of my friends were trying to keep them, I offered $10 but both refused, I now feel bad for those artisans who get 1,000 clients like these per day.

On a lighter note, I really like the design some of these cans have.

Maybe I’ll incorporate the stabbed heart or the mermaid into my site design, I really need to work on my sitebox for Nekoweb.

Presentation

The presentation went amazing and I passed with flying colors, part of the grading was based on how much time it took to make through it all, I was almost about to get a bad grade until people thankfully started asking questions about everything: “What made you want to cover this topic?”, “What are some key takeaways of this project?”, “What is your favorite color of light?”, “Did you make these candles?”, etc. This took enough time to make it until 9 minutes and 22 seconds on the timer, and I got a 92/100 on the grade because of this.

I didn’t have anything to wear (this was also graded) because of a made up celebration we had the day before in our friend group, so I just wore a plain off-white button up and some faux-ripped straight pants[[ Whoever said nerds can’t be stylish. ]], now you can cosplay me if you’d like!

Lemon Posset

I had leftover liquid so I thought, "why not just have a nice cup of it too?"

My mom showed me a video, and after she realized I have the ingredients to make it, made me cook it literally the same day I’m writing this, the sad thing is that since she has to work, she’ll only be able to eat it until some hours after this entry goes up :(.

I was kinda worried that it was too lemony but its just perfect, kind of like lemon ice cream just wayyy creamier, very easy and humble recipe, maybe I’ll make a recipes page on my site.
